OUR LESSONS

We offer ten (10) lessons to aid you in your freediving journey. Each lesson will focus on different skills to equip you with the correct knowledge to become a freediver and eventually a coach. You may view our digital training manual by clicking on this link.

1 | Introduction to Freediving

This lesson is designed to accommodate the needs of both swimmers and non-swimmers. The topics covered in this lesson are: 1) Survival floating and basics of swimming, 2) optimized breath holding, 3) mask and snorkel use, 4) equalization, 5) the dive protocol, 6) response to blackouts, and 7) the duckdive

3 | Navigation

This lesson covers navigating at sea. The topics in this lesson are 1) how to make a position fix, 2) tidal forecasting and drift prediction, 3) compass navigation, and 4) time management.

5 | Coach Training

In this lesson we will get you into coaching mode. We will prepare you to participate in teaching. Don't worry, we will always find a topic and a task you feel comfortable with. It's normal to feel some stage fright. Once you overcome it, you'll be rewarded with a dose of confidence that will make you a better, safer, and more all around dive buddy.

7 | Chest Deep Exhale Dives

This lesson is on "chest deep exhale dives". Exhale dives prepare our body and mind for deeper dives in the future. The chest deep exhale dive mimics the size of our lungs at deeper depth.

9 | Advanced Equalization

This lesson digs deeper in the many aspects of equalization. The equalization challenge is your best friend. It will never leave you. The only thing that will change is the depth where you meet him.

2 | Rescue and Self-help

This lesson is more focused on the necessary skills for open water safety. The five topics to be discussed are: 1) cramp removal, 2) panicked swimmer response, 3) transporting a tired diver, 4) how to be a better safety buddy, and 5) how to exit with an unconscious diver.

4 | Rope Work and Weight Use

This lesson talks about the different knots used for tying the buoy and other practical applications. The most used knot is the clove hitch. We will also practice the bowline, the double eight knot, and the daisy chain. We will also start using a 2 pound weight in an attempt to discover our neutral point.

6 | Depth Preparation and Line Training

If you want to dive deeper you should first practice towards possible emergencies. In this lesson we will cover 1) How to respond to a non-breathing diver under water, 2) We will do a dive with no mask, 3) with no fins, and 4) we will dive with a lanyard and practice how to pull up an unconscious diver using the rope system.

8 | Lost at Sea

Imagine your boat has capsized and your floating all alone in the middle of the sea, what would you do? This lessons extends your survival skills and includes a long distance swim.

10 | Lead Coach Training

This lesson is about how to organize your own freediving event and all the topics that relate to that: advertisement, money management, event handling, collaboration with coaches, and much more.
